Full Mouth Rehabilitation
Restoring Balance, Beauty, and Function
Your smile is one of the most defining features of your face. It can express warmth, confidence, and youth in an instant. But beyond aesthetics, healthy, well-aligned teeth support vital functions like chewing, speaking, and breathing. When the smile begins to break down—whether from age, wear, or prior dental work—the entire system can lose its balance. Full mouth rehabilitation is a comprehensive, personalized process that brings your smile back into balance so that you can feel like yourself again.
Visit 0: Before Your Visit With Us
Before beginning any major treatment, we take a step back to consider the whole picture. You’ll complete a detailed medical and dental history so we can better understand how your health may influence your care. In some cases, we may coordinate with your physician to identify underlying conditions that could impact the success and longevity of your treatment.
Certain health conditions (e.g. acid reflux, sleep apnea, diabetes, or autoimmune disorders) can affect how teeth wear, how gums heal, or how well restorations hold over time. Medications that reduce saliva flow or chronic sinus issues can also play a role in bite stability and breathing. Our goal is to create beautiful, functional results that rest on a strong, stable foundation.
Visit 1: Records and Smile Design
We begin with a consultation to learn about your goals, priorities, and concerns. During this visit, we take photographs, gather diagnostic records, and work with our lab to design a customized wax-up—a 3D mock-up of your future smile. This becomes our roadmap, helping us plan the shape, proportion, and bite with precision.
Visit 2: Preparation and Temporization
At your second visit, we gently roughen the teeth to prepare them for treatment. Using the wax-up as our guide, we transfer the design onto your natural teeth with temporary materials. This gives you the opportunity to try out the new shape, length, and bite before anything is finalized. We’ll also select your ideal shade for the final ceramic restorations.
Visit 3: Final Delivery
Once everything has been refined and approved, we move forward with the delivery. Each restoration is custom-crafted from high-quality ceramic and placed with careful attention to detail, symmetry, and bite. This is when your smile truly comes to life.
Visit 4: Refinement and Final Photos
During this final phase, we make any last adjustments to ensure your new smile feels just right. We’ll also take final photographs to capture the transformation. Whether you're rebuilding from years of wear or simply seeking a complete reset, full mouth rehabilitation offers a path toward restored confidence, function, and beauty.
Caring for Your Smile
Brush twice daily using a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste. This helps maintain gum health and prevents buildup around the margins of your restorations.
Floss daily to keep the areas between teeth and along the gumline clean. Proper hygiene protects the supporting tooth structure and prevents staining at the edges.
Wear a night guard if you grind or clench your teeth. Even durable ceramics can fracture under pressure. A custom guard helps preserve both your restorations and your natural bite.
Avoid biting into hard or sticky foods like ice, nuts, hard candies, and caramel. These can cause chips, cracks, or loosen restorations over time. Cut tougher foods into smaller pieces and use your back teeth for chewing when possible. This distributes pressure and minimizes stress on your veneers or crowns.
Expect some temporary sensitivity to temperature or pressure after placement. This typically improves as your mouth adjusts. Let us know if it persists or worsens.
Keep up with regular dental visits. We often recommend shorter hygiene recall intervals (every 3–4 months) to provide extra care around your restorations. These visits allow us to monitor the health of your teeth and gums, polish the surfaces, and catch any issues early.
Restorations may eventually need to be replaced. Longevity depends heavily on daily care, bite forces, and how they’re maintained over time. Our goal is to help extend the life of your smile as much as possible.
